Hosted by Welsh Athletics this indoor event is for emerging athletic talent from Wales and the neighbouring countries of England, Scotland and Ireland. Athletics Ireland did not send any teams this year however a number of individual Irish athletes competed as Ireland Guest representatives.

On 7th January in Edinburgh, Britton dominates senior women's race with a convincing performance. In senior men's race Sweeney appears very strong in the earlier and mid race phases and finishes in 11th place. Tobin 6th place in Celtic Junior men's must be very encouraging for his prospects at Junior level. Other Irish results not to hand yet.

Abbotstown hosted this years all ireland schools in what started off to be a warm, Saturday morning in the country’s capital.
