While many of the US based lads have a big weekend ahead of them in terms of competition there will also be keen interest in performances on the domestic front also. The Dublin Senior Championships take place tomorrow in St. Annes Park Raheny.

Junior Mens

Here we see many of the lads who are bidding for the Junior spots on the Irish team in action from a range of Dublin clubs. Liam Tremble (MSB) and John Travers (Donore) are expected to battle it out for the top spot. However in recent weeks fresh off his win in the Novices, Clonliffe man Dave Fitzmaurice will be a dark horse. He will be hoping to also lead his team to a win ahead of Donore as they look to have the strength in depth in the squad to dominate this race.

Senior Mens

With the suprise ommision of Mark Keneally from this race it has been blown wide open. Last years winner DSD man Al McCormack has yet to make his season opener, it remains to be seen as to whether he will line up come Sunday. Given his performance at the Gerry Farnan and the fact of the race being in his clubs own back yard, Mick Clohisey will be touted as one of the favourites. Second last year he will be looking to improve on that. He will have a few other athletes hot on his heels. Alan O' Brien (Crusaders) and Sean Conolly (Tallaght) will also look to be in the mix. Rathfarnam's Sean Hehir wil also look for podium position.

In the team there seems to be a clear winner in Rathfarnam. With Vinny Mulvey only returning from injury and the omission of Clonliffe's Mark Keneally and Irish Marathon Champion Sergiu Ciobanu recovering from Monday, teams will find it hard to tackle a team including Sean Hehir, Mark Ryan, Barry Minnock and Paul Fleming.
